Re: AMA concerned about physicians and quality scores. How sad is this?? Healthcare reform is doomed if Physicians "manipulate" their patient population to obtain better outcome scores. Is our industry really that pathetic and scared of transparency? Is this the equivalent of hospitals reporting on "never" events?

Seeker of Truths: You will never get better service from a prospective vendor than when you are a prospect. It's like hiring someone, they're at their BEST during the interview - if you have small concerns then, you'll have major ones later on. If your vendors are telling you lies now (let's not sugarcoat it), when you're a prospect, imagine what's going to happen when you're a customer. Run as fast as you can. There is no ARRA money available to small practices until early 2011, but there are still plenty of reasons to buy a good EHR now (even without ARRA money). Stick with vendors that don't have to sell hype to close the deal.
