ONC publishes a report on how public health agencies could better use existing HIEs to collect information from providers. Two goals emerge in the report: the need to better streamline the number of connections and related costs for providers, HIEs, and public health agencies to share health data; and support providers in their attempts to meet public health requirements for Meaningful Use. ONC respondents don’t consider health IT developers to be a barrier to integrating public health information systems with HIEs, though there is “high frustration” with reporting that information via EHRs.

Boston Medical Center’s Housing Prescriptions as Health Care program will utilize Act.md’s care coordination technology as part of its efforts to connect families in need with housing, social, legal, and healthcare services.


Virtual Health integrates Wellth’s incentive-based disease management app with its population health and care management technology for managed care organizations.
